Everett

Last week my class went on the jet boats. The dock that they are secured to is
located near OMSI. The jet boats trip was a chance for my class and others to see
Portland’s bridges. Well, most of them anyway. We also got to see some of Portland’s
boat building stations.

The boat, as far as I can remember, was named the Dancing Rain. Possibly
some of my classmates may tell you different, but I am fairly sure that was the name of
the boat. It has a top speed of about 48 knots, or 55 miles an hour. The boat driver was
named Kory. He enjoyed slowing the boat to splash my class with water.
! I learned about the many bridges in the Portland area on this trip.

A few of the ones we saw are the Marquam, the Fremont, and the Steel.
Kory described each one for us and would quiz us on parts of the bridge. Our class
answered questions that were asked by Kory that referred to each bridge. In conclusion,
I learned lots about the Portland bridges on this fascinating trip.
