Livy


“Matzoh Rocha”
Ingredients:
  • 2 sticks of butter
  • chocolate
  • matzoh
  • nuts
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • large cookie sheet-cover with tin foil
Procedure:
  1. Bring to a boil
  2. Layer with Matzoh
  3. Pour sugar/butter mix over
  4. Bake 4 minutes at 450 degrees
  5. Sprinkle 1 ½ cups (12 oz. package) chocolate chips.
  6. Bake for 1.5 minutes
  7. Spread choc. with spatula
  8. Sprinkle with chopped pecans plus chips (health bars).
  9. Freeze on baking tray
  10. Break into pieces
  11. Serve


The person I interviewed is named Alysa. Her main culture is Jewish. She came from East coast but she grew up with Jewish food. This recipe for Matzoh Rocha is made and eaten only during passover. Alysa said that it was one of her favorite Jewish passover desserts.

  1. Hi Livy. Thank you for interviewing Alysa and then writing the recipe for Matzoh Rocha. It sounds delicious, and since I love to bake, I'll have to try your recipe. It is also interesting to me that this is a food that is eaten only during Passover. It would be fun to learn more about Passover and other foods that are served during that time. Plus, interviewing people is fun and can be very interesting. Continue to explore other ideas and cultures and write about what you've learned.

    I really enjoyed reading your post. I love to bake and always want to try new receipes. Your receipe is very well written and the receipe has my favourite food in it...chocolate!! I have also learnt a bit more about Jewish culture because of your post. Well done!!!
