Eleanor

During a wildfire energy is released which is why fires are so hot and bright. Ash is the form fuel takes after the fire is over.

Fires now only release heat but they are also caused by heat. A fire can be caused by hot things such as burning match, a flash of lightning or a lumber in a lying camp fire. A whole forest can be set a blaze by a tiny flame no bigger than the flame from a match.

Many people think that all wildfires are enemies but that’s not true. Wildfires are a fact in the wilderness and lots of plants need them. Many trees are so dependent on wildfires that even wildfires are in their life cycle.

  1. Hi Eleanor,

I like how you point out a little-known fact, like how a lit match can set a whole forest ablaze. You also balance out your piece by showing that wildfires can be both a good thing and a bad thing. Good job!
