Dear Families,

What a great first IB presentation. Thank you for all of the parents that were able to attend. The students did a wonderful job presenting information about money in our IB unit. Please note, if your child was in my class last year, please note that they studied a different topic this time and had different expectations for their writing and presentation.

Fabric Markers: Thank you for turning back in the fabric markers as your child finishes with them! Also, remember that the markers need to be heat set before the go through the wash. You can do that by ironing them on high for 4 minutes of putting it in the dryer for 30 minutes at the highest setting.

Math: This week we learned more about the base ten system. Starting next week, we will be doing more small group work in math.  Ask your child to explain in drawing what happens when you subtract a number from 100, like 300 – 15.  We are continuing to work on addition, subtraction and multiplication fluency. **Please look in the homework folder to see if you have a note about how your child is doing.** You can find lots of practice pages for free at this website: http://themathworksheetsite.com/

Spelling: There are no spelling words this week. Student should just study for the last test of the first IB unit on Tuesday!

PE: We have PE on Fridays. Please make sure your child wears gym shoes those days. Thanks!

Library: Our library day is Thursday. Please make sure books are returned to school on Wednesday so they can be checked in   before library.
