"The Albina Library"
On Tuesdays my class went to the
Albina library. We got a behind-the-scenes look at things. Things like the back
room of the library. We also got to see the system of checking in and out
books. Their system looks remarkably like ours.
We got to see the inside of the book
drop area. It has a bin with a cotton mesh covering. People dropped books while
we were inside the area. Some people got to carry books to the back, sadly I
was not one of them.
When we got to the back, the host
librarian showed us how the system worked. They receive shipments from other
libraries. Albina also ships books to its fellow libraries. It takes and
receives many books. I learned that Albina is the smallest library in their
branch.
