"Floods"
Global warming is the increase in the average temperature of Earth. Global warming is causing sea level to rise, with the risk of flooding island and cities. First I will talk about the effects of flooding. Then, I will talk about what cause flooding. My plan is to turn off the lights and walk or bike to prevent greenhouse gases.
Global warming is causing sea level to rise because the Arctic sea ice is melting. If sea level rises too much it will flood islands, cities, and beaches. People, animals and plants will die. It will destroy buildings, bridges, roads, houses and power plants. It will also affect the water supply and the agriculture. There won't be enough water and food for people who survived the flood. Water can be contaminated, so people will become sick. It will be difficult to provide emergency aid to the population, because roads will be destroyed. So even if they survive the flood, people will struggle to live.

Global warming is caused by greenhouse gases. Greenhouse gases are created by human activities like deforestation and the burning of fossil fuel. We use fossil fuels like coal for electricity and petroleum for driving cars. The problem is that burning fossil fuels is very bad for the environment. One effect of Global warming is the rise of sea levels. This is happening because the Arctic sea ice is melting. When sea level rises, there is a high risk of flooding Islands, cities, and beaches around the world are in danger.
To help solve this problem, I plan on turning off the light and avoid using cars. Every day I walk to school and switch off light when I leave a room. I will also try to ride my bike for short distances. For example, I will bike to the library or to the store. If we use less electricity and avoid taking cars there will be less greenhouse gases. Then the Earth temperature won't rise so much.
