Preston

One day Roy was driving in his stagecoach. He was in the army. He was 16. He had just gotten his license for his horse because cars had not been invented yet.

Roy was going hunting near a river.  Suddenly a deer popped out of a nearby bush. Roy swerved to avoid the deer and his stagecoach and horse slid into the river! Even worse, the horse was drowning!

Roy screamed, “911! Is anybody here! I slid into the river!” Lucky for Roy, a forest ranger heard him screaming.

“I’m coming!” said the ranger. The ranger was by the river in five minutes with his stagecoach.

The ranger grabbed a rope from inside his stagecoach. He tied the rope to his horse.
“Tie the other end to your horse!” The ranger yelled as he threw the rope to Roy. Roy quickly tied the rope to his horse.

The ranger got on his stagecoach and yelled, “Giddy up horsey!” The horse started to go down the road and Roy started to get on the road!

Roy thanked the ranger and started driving his stagecoach home.
