Dear Families,

The students have been working very hard for the MLK day performance. Thank you for coming and supporting us at the performance!

History - We have read many books on the Civil Rights movement and talked about what IB attitudes different leaders demonstrated. Students also talked about what IB attitudes are easier and harder for them. I encourage you to talk more with your child at home. What does social justice mean? What are civil rights?

Math - We are finishing up our unit on multiplication and division. At this point, your child should understand how to solve word problems including multiplication and division that are single digit by single digit. This next week we will be learning about area. Our next unit will be all about fractions!

Reading/Writing - For our IB unit, we are reading about food from all over the world. Students are investigating the history of a specific food and will be writing a report on that food in the upcoming weeks.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Ms. Luria
